Medical Education

Remigio Epuwat is 30 years old, is married, lived in Asinge (a village close to Kidera) and has two daughters

Remigio was raised by his grandparents, living with three brothers and two sisters in very poor of circumstances. With the help of the grandparents he studied 7 years at Osukuru primary school and 6 years secondary level. During this time, he already had the vision of becoming a doctor and one day founding a hospital to help people who needed help. With a great deal of commitment and effort, he was able to begin the three-year program at the great Aubrey Memorial College, which he successfully completed as a Clinical Officer.

Coming back to his village he started as a Clinical Officer at the Panyangasi Health Center III. He works with great dedication in the maternity ward to help women give birth, as the risk of mother and child dying in childbirth is very high in Uganda.

Remigio, with the help of Dreike Scholarship Fund (DSF), Heidi Bachler, RC Bonn-Rheinbogen, RC Innsbruck Alpin and several donors, has been able start his study of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the Kampala International University, Western Campus since 2023. This education will bring him closer to his dream of being a doctor.

DSF is now trying to find further funds for his studies, because we want to guarantee that Remigio can complete his studies successfully.
The annual year costs of his 5 ½ years studies amount to approx. USD 5.000. The first year is funded. We estimate that Remigio will graduate in 2028/29.
We would be very grateful for financial support for Remigio's education
