Porridge Program

With the support of the Rotary Clubs Kitzbühel and Rotary Club Innsbruck Alpin - and many other private donors - cups, plates, cutlery and saucepans could be provided to Kidera Primary School. Many tonnes of maize were purchased from local farmers and ground in Tororo. The shells were not removed, and this created awareness of healthy nutrition through whole grain maize.

In 2022, only 345 pupils attended Kidera Primary School. Thanks to the porridge program, almost 2,000 children are now attending school. Both the children and the teachers are more motivated to learn. The parents prepare the porridge, and five times a week there is a hot meal. Initially, the school's old fireplace was used. The parents then built a kitchen house on their own.

In addition, Judith and Doris have also financed an additional 10 teachers for a year, as the government school only provided 8 teachers for the large number of students. In the meantime, the headmistress has succeeded in getting 16 teachers officially employed.
