Upgrading Panyangasi Health Centre III
As part of the Global Grant project ‘Kidera - Adopt a Village’, a building was renovated that should serve as an outpatient clinic and laboratory. Furthermore, mattresses, curtains, furniture and a delivery bed were provided.
It quickly became apparent that the Panyangasi Health Centre III lacked many things.
So, through further initiatives by the two nurses Heidi Bachler and Johanna Astl and Judith and Doris, a blood analysis device was purchased.
With the container delivery from Austria in 2023, the Health Center III was equipped with additional furniture, microscopes, an ultrasound device, further analysis devices, a wheelchair, hospital bed and couches, etc. Many private donations enable the regular purchase of medicines, mattresses, medical supplies and even sterilisation equipment. New window glass that is not transparent from the outside provides more privacy for the woman in labour.
The full latrines, which pose a major hygiene problem for patients and newly delivered mothers, were also emptied. Water-based toilets would be an important investment.
Much more has been done, but there is still a great need for action. Water-based toilets and an incinerator would be next important investments.
Financial support is very welcome.
