Upgrading the School

To lay the foundations for improving school education, the Rotary Global Grant project ‘Kidera - Adopt a Village’ was started in 2022 to build infrastructure and creating opportunities for further projects and activities.

In this Global Grant furniture for the children and teachers as well as text books have been provided. The host Club is RC Gaba and international partner is RC Innsbruck Alpin. The project is carried out in close cooperation with RC Kitzbühel and RC Bonn-Rheinbogen.

Rotary Club Innsbruck Alpin provided a container with additional equipment for the school, organised by Judith and Doris - with the help of many supporters and partners. The Medical University of Innsbruck deserves a special mention for the large number of tables, chairs, cabinets and lockers.

Security is an important issue due to the high crime rate in Kidera. The school grounds are not fenced, but security personnel guard the inventory and the teachers and students who stay on the school grounds during the week.

Financial support for the construction of a fence would be very welcome.
